Welcome! It’s a pleasure to “meet” you! My name is Liz and I’m a real food “foodie,” recipe developer, cooking and baking enthusiast, and a full-time broadcast news executive producer who is passionate about healthy living. I live in beautiful, adventurous Chattanooga, Tenn. (Go Vols!) surrounded by lovely mountains, ridges and rivers. Basically, God’s country. 🙂
I decided to try going Paleo for 30 days in June 2012 to address some health issues and my experiment quickly turned into a lifestyle that I fully embraced. I’m totally hooked! I want to serve the Lord in every facet of my life to the best of my ability and I believe this lifestyle gives me the health and stamina to do so. The positive changes I’ve observed in my own life sparked a passion in me to see others achieve better health and live to their full potential.
Food is essential to life, but it’s so much more than just sustenance. It’s a source of pleasure, shared experiences with others – and even adventure. I firmly believe that food should be enjoyed and healthy food is no exception. Making the choice to pursue better health shouldn’t require a sacrifice in flavor.
I’ve always loved cooking and baking, but making a commitment to eating only real food fueled a new level of creativity within me and increased my desire to experiment in the kitchen. I’ve found eating real food to be a true joy. I launched For the Joy of Real Food in the hopes of helping others make that discovery as well. My recipes are gluten-free, grain-free, mostly dairy-free, refined sugar-free, soy-free, paleo/primal-friendly – and delicious! Come stay a while and embark on this adventure with me!
